No More Sister Wives: Kody Brown Makes the Move to Monogamy

Sister Wives star Kody Brown is reflecting on his failures in plural marriage and what that might mean for his future relationships. After his relationships with Christine, Janelle, and Meri all imploded within a 14-month time period, he is now focusing on his remaining and only wife, Robyn Brown. In fact, it seems like he's now planning to only pursue monogamy given how quickly his long-term relationships fell apart. There's just one problem, though: Robyn may not be on board with his plan.

Kody feels that he will never love another woman the way he loves Robyn.

On Sunday's episode of Sister Wives: One on One, the conversation about Kody and Robyn’s relationship was a big one. Host Sukanya Krishnan asked Kody what he thought about there being another sister wife in the family someday, and he made it clear that he "wouldn't be interested" in Robyn recruiting another woman at this point.

"I would have to tell that woman I will never love you as much as I love her," he shared. "Now I know better."

Janelle Brown would put money on Kody and Robyn's monogamy.

Sukanya also spoke with Kody's ex, Janelle, about him potentially adding another sister wife to the family, and she seems to think monogamy is in the cards for them, too.

"He's now talking more and more about, 'As we move forward into monogamy.' So, I think that's where he's headed," she said. She also shared that she doesn’t see Robyn bringing in another wife, saying, "I do not foresee it. If I did, I'll bet you $1,000 right now and you come find me. If he does, I will give you $1,000."

At this point, Jenelle is happy for them.

Janelle’s words come from her belief that Kody and Robyn both seem to be "very happy" with the status of their relationship as it is. "They have found something together at this stage of their life that seems to be very deep and I think it works. And that's OK," she said.

Robyn seems to be struggling a little bit with the idea of monogamy.

Robyn, on the other hand, may not be as happy in her relationship with Kody as Janelle seems to think she is. She seemed to have some hesitation about her ability to find happiness with Kody now that he has broken his promise to have a strong plural family.

"It's weird. To be loving and respectful to Kody, I want to say yes but I just don't know how this works exactly," she revealed. "It's weird. I feel like it's disrespectful."

She feels that she needs the ex-wives' blessings to move forward.

Robyn shared that it "feels disrespectful to be happy" with Kody because she hasn’t received an off-screen blessing from his three former wives, despite them all approving of the relationship on-camera. "I need an off-camera, to my face [conversation] because I don't know how it feels like it's disrespectful to his kids," she said through tears. "It feels disrespectful to the commitments that I made."

"My commitment to them, to their kids, to Kody about this family is not broken. And I don't know how to break it. I don't know how to be done with it," she added.
