‘Confessions to Our Dead Mom’ Sisters Go Viral Sharing Hilarious Mishaps Since Mom’s Death

No matter how old you are, the pain of losing a parent is often overwhelming. As time goes by, life may get easier, but it will never be the same. Some people spend the rest of their lives trying to make their parents proud, even though they are no longer with them.

There is no one right or wrong way to deal with grief, but we may have found our favorite. Sara Wollner and her sister Katie shared a hilarious TikTok confessing things that have happened since they lost their mom to pancreatic cancer a little more than a year ago.

The video is just so darn relatable.

Sara and Katie, like many other daughters, clearly spent their lives trying to make their beloved mother proud. After she died, they let a few things slide they didn't realize they had to do and wanted to confess to her.

First, Sara and Katie didn't even know they had to file their mother's taxes. "Nope," Katie says with a laugh. But it gets better.

Katie didn't realize a lot of 'adulting' has to happen when you're an adult.

She cackles and says she didn't know she had to get "my own insurance policy." Sara jumps in, laughing hysterically, and outs her sister for driving an uninsured car for months. She got her mother's license plate and her own plate suspended, so Katie couldn't drive either car.

"We know you had the same license plate for years, so RIP to AZK," Sara says with a laugh.

But that wasn't all. The girls also missed out on some significant events.

Sara says she got a terrible stomach bug, missed a baby shower, and left Katie to handle it all alone. That's a bummer, but what Katie did made us laugh out loud.

"I tried to do a charity walk for cancer, and I couldn't finish it," she says between guffaws, "'cause I think I broke my foot."

Sara adds that she didn't cry at her mom's funeral because she was too pregnant and didn't want to throw up – not for lack of love for her mother.

The girls promise to continue to the hilarious and heartwarming series. "Lots more to come. We'll continue to disappoint you as time goes on," Katie says. "We're sorry," Sara says as she laughs.

TikTokers loved the sisters' sincerity.

Using humor as a coping mechanism for grief resonated with so many people. The video has 18.2 million views and 2.8 million likes. Thousands of people have shared their appreciation for the honest post.

Sara and Katie made others feel normal.

"I lost my mom over a year and a half ago and I've been very depressed BUT seeing this video and your perspective is so refreshing and heartwarming," one person wrote.

"Oh man. My mom died in July. I had NO IDEA how much I needed this post !" another comment reads.

Other moms loved seeing the daughters' joy.

"As a mom, I approve. You two are awesome. She is beaming in heaven ," someone else commented.

Sara and Katie are not the only ones with a few missteps.

The comments did not disappoint, and many TikTokers shared similar experiences.

"My daughters better do this for me! I had cancer and tried to guilt trip them into washing the dishes, they said my hands didn't have cancer! ," one mom shared.

There were lots of other mishaps like these.

"This is the BEST healing! my sis and I tried to spread mom's ashes in a blizzard, we ended up wearing her! " one comment reads.

"I swear, this was me and my sister – who lost my mom's ashes somewhere in her house ," someone else wrote.

And who hasn't wanted to try something like this person?

"We lost my my mom 5 years ago and my Dad and I brought a Ouija board to Best Buy when they told us they had to talk to her to pay her bill … the feels," another person commented.

This one hit a little too close to home. Those darn pills all look alike, right?

"Confession: my mom died a year ago, I couldn't cry at her funeral because I accidentally took my brothers anxiety pills instead of my thyroid meds ," someone admitted.

Sara and Katie, we love your sense of humor and how you are honoring your mom. We know she is smiling down and laughing right along with you. And please, get working on part 2.
